Who should attend this academy?*

A "new" director is defined as a person who will be assuming the position/duties of a Director of Special Education for the first time during the 2011-2012 school year.  Districts planning to hire an individual who has never been a Director of Special Education in any Missouri school district or an individual who will be assuming such a position during the coming school year are encouraged to reserve these dates and submit a registration to the Office of Special Education as soon as possible.

Attendance at this academy is limited to 75 individuals and enrollment will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.  This academy is not intended for individuals who are new to a district, but have previously served as a Director of Special Education elsewhere or for individuals who have served for more than one year as a Director of Special Education in any district within the state of Missouri.

*PLEASE NOTE: Due to high demand and limited space availability, individuals who have attended this training in the past are not eligible to enroll in this year's academy.
