MSB Outreach Services will host a free, one-day workshop on Tools for the Assessment and Development of Visual Skills (developmental ages, birth to 5 years) through the National Instructional Partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind (APH).

A professional development workshop on focusing on use of the APH products, ToAD, and TADPOLE will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Missouri School for the Blind, St. Louis.  These kits serve dual functions as assessment tools and as materials for the development of visual skills.  The kits focus on visual characteristics of objects that are typically helpful to students with visual and cortical visual impairments.  The use of ISAVE as an assessment instrument will also be covered.  These products provide a collection of suggested protocols, teaching strategies and activities and materials for use with young learners or those who have communication and/or cognitive delays.

More details with full registration instructions will be posted in August.  If you wish to pre-register, contact Yvonne Ali (Yvonne.Ali@msb.dese.mo.gov) indicating your intention to attend.
