The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Transition Coalition are recruiting school personnel to join the Missouri Transition Liaisons in specific areas of the state. We need your assistance at the local level to improve transition education and services throughout the state.  We are focusing on filling liaison vacancies in:

RPDC Region 1-Southeast

RPDC Region 4-Northeast

RPDC Region 5-Northwest

RPDC Region 6-South Central

RPDC Region 9-Central

Missouri Transition Liaisons devote time and energy to improving transition services in Missouri through increased communication and collaboration with the Regional Professional Development Centers, the KU Transition Coalition, and DESE.  The goal for Transition Liaisons is to build capacity at the local level.  Liaisons will provide input into statewide guidance documents and forms; review professional development trainings and resources; and, collaborate with other transition liaisons, RPDC Consultants, Transition Coalition, and DESE.  They will disseminate information at both the district and RPDC regional level to develop a collaborative network of colleagues.

If selected, a stipend is provided to offset liaison expenses to meet the assigned responsibilities (travel, lodging, meals for site-based meetings, and trainings).

Transition Liaison's responsibilities include the following:

* Contact a minimum of four identified school districts within their region to engage them in transition professional development activities within their RPDC region or close proximity;

* Attend six webinar meetings - occurring 3:00-4:30 p.m. during the school year;

* Collaborate with other liaisons using online discussion forums and sharing and posting of resources at http://missouritransition.org/moodle/; and,

* Attend the 2014 Missouri Transition Summer Institute (present on request from DESE).

If you or someone you know would like to become a Missouri Transition Liaison, please complete the Transition Liaison application and submit by September 30, 2013.   The application is located at http://dese.mo.gov/se/ep/transition_progs.htm#Liaisons.
