The Public Placement Fund application is due October 31, 2012, for services provided during the 2011-12 school year.  The application and manual are posted on the Special Education Finance webpage at  Applications and supporting cost documentation must be submitted electronically to by October 31, 2012, to be eligible for reimbursement.

The Public Placement Fund provides reimbursement for districts educating non-domicile students, both IEP and non-IEP, placed within the district by the Division of Family Services (DFS)/Children's Division (CD), the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Division of Youth Services (DYS), or a Court of Competent Jurisdiction.  Funding is available when the educational costs of these students exceed the revenues received by the serving district.  This is an OPTIONAL application. 

Please note that students should NOT be claimed on both the High Need Fund and Public Placement Fund applications.
