Subject:  Register NOW for Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) Training

Source: Thea Scott, Director of Tiered Model Coordination, Office of Quality Schools

Intended Audience: Professional staff who work with preschool age children

Date: November 13, 2013

During the June 2013 State Board of Education meeting, the Missouri State Board of Education adopted the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), a research-based, observation readiness tool, as the Department's recommended early childhood instrument for use with preschool age children. Plans are currently underway in Missouri to train a cadre of 21 Certified Coach Trainers (CCTs) who will ultimately provide statewide training on use of the DRDP instrument. The CCT trainings consist of a five-phase model with embedded teacher trainings that focus on use and implementation of the DRDP. These CCT trainings, which will be conducted in December, January, and February, are provided at no cost to the participants. Once the CCTs are fully credentialed, they will host trainings around the state for professionals who work with preschool age children. We anticipate additional statewide DRDP trainings, which will be delivered at reasonable cost, to begin in May, 2014. It is expected that all staff who work with preschool age children attend one of the two-day DRDP teacher trainings prior to full implementation of the instrument.

At this time priority for participating in the CCT trainings is given to these teacher groups only: Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Missouri Preschool Program (MPP), Title I, and Head Start who are currently serving students with disabilities identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

For the priority teacher groups only, registration information is available at:  Under Training Opportunities, click the December, January, or February links to find a convenient date and location for you to attend a DRDP training. Click on the date to register and learn additional information. If registration information is not currently available, please check back often as new information is added daily.

*Note: When registering in MyLearningPlan for the no-cost trainings delivered in December, January, or February, write in the group to which you belong (ECSE, MPP, Title I, Head Start w/SWD identified under IDEA) in the blank labeled "position." You will need to report this same information at the sign-in for each training event.
